Juba is a vibrant and distinctive Mexican coffee from the Montaña Alta of Guerrero, grown by Indigenous Me’phaa producer communities in one of the country’s most remote and biodiverse coffee landscapes. Cultivated at 1,500 to 1,800 masl on small shaded farms, this lot brings together careful farming, rich natural surroundings, and a strong sense of place in every cup.
The farms here are more like small forest gardens than conventional coffee plots, with timber and fruit trees creating a natural canopy over the coffee plants. That setting helps shape a coffee with real character, while the natural process adds fruit depth and a fuller, more expressive profile than you might expect from many Mexican coffees.
Sourced through Ensambles, Juba also tells a bigger story. For the past seven years, producers in this region have been supported with sustainable farming guidance, quality development, and stronger access to national and international markets, helping build a more transparent and equitable coffee supply chain.
This is a coffee with presence: layered, origin-driven, and packed with the kind of individuality that makes a cup memorable. It works beautifully as a filter roast and offers a chance to explore a less familiar side of Mexican coffee, shaped by biodiversity, resilience, and dedicated producer communities.
Tasting notes: Chocolate truffle, Red Apple, White strawberry
